Bike Walk Tennessee does not blanket endorse commercial activities. But this event gives Nashvillians an opportunity to get a look at Bike Share technology and equipment. If you've never seen this kind of equipment, it's worth stopping by to check it out. Hopefully if you don't see it now, you'll see bike share equipment installed around Tennessee!

MESSAGE:
A B-cycle demonstration event is coming to Nashville! The city is exploring an expansion of its public bike-sharing as a means of alternative transportation, and increasing active-healthy living opportunities. All interested Nashvillians are invited to visit the upcoming demonstration event.
This year, cities like Minneapolis, Denver, and Washington DC have launched bike-sharing systems. People can check a bike out from a network of automated bike stations, ride to their destination, and return the bike to a different station. Earlier this year Nashville was awarded $7.5 million for the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant - one of only 44 communities around the country to receive the grant funds. An automated-solar powered bike sharing program is among several initiatives the city will implement to create healthier places.
B-cycle has partnered with Humana and Trek Bicycles to bring bike-sharing to the US. We have already launched in cities like Denver, Chicago, and Des Moines, and will be demonstrating the system to the city of Nashville in Centennial Park on Tuesday, September 28th from noon until 3pm.
